Here's our actual year-end checklist: 1. Reconcile all bank & credit-card accounts through Dec 31 2. Clear the uncategorized-transaction queue to zero 3. Review accounts receivable — write off true bad debt 4. Review loan balances against lender statements 5. Verify fixed-asset purchases are capitalized 6. Collect W-9s for every contractor paid $600+ 7. File 1099-NECs by January 31 8. Reconcile payroll reports to the general ledger 9. Count inventory (if you carry it) 10. Book depreciation with your CPA 11. Produce final P&L, balance sheet & cash-flow statements 12. Deliver the CPA handoff package Clients on monthly plans get this automatically.
